I would like to introduce the new, re-designed Essentials. Based on feedback from readers, we decided that the newsletter needed a fresh new look and feel. We engaged a designer a few weeks ago to help us set the newsletter off in a new direction.

Tarina Palmer new CPRS Vancouver vice-president

We are pleased to announce that Tarina Palmer, regional communications officer with Coast Health, is the new vice-president of Canadian Public Relations Society Vancouver. Palmer has working in public relations and marketing for the past 10 years, with four years in broadcasting prior to that.

National Awards 2005 brochure and entry forms for CPRS’s exclusive member awards program are now available at www.cprs.ca. Winners will be honoured at the Awards Gala during the CPRS National Conference in Calgary, Alberta, June 15 - 17.

Looking for an extra pair of hands this spring to help with your next PR campaign or project? The Kwantlen University College public relations internship program provides all PR students the chance to step into a company and experience first-hand the fast-paced work of public relations and communications. Volunteers needed: Kidsafe Project Society
The Kidsafe Project Society is seeking a volunteer to assist in media relations and PR for a fundraising program for two months. The Society provides healthy meals and recreational and developmental activities to children who would otherwise be at-risk during the time that schools are closed for holidays.
