Furthermore, Arore Communications, the company behind Lifestyles Magazines Group, plans to launch Kelowna Lifestyles, Edmonton Lifestyles and Calgary Lifestyles later this summer.

Editorial content profiles local business experts as well as shares tips, features and insights on the topics of arts & culture, house & home, health & fitness, business and boomer+.

“Our vision is to create a place that is known for quality editorial content that celebrates diverse local opinion, knowledge and business while supporting unique lifestyles and community initiatives,” says Lindsay Pearson, Group Editor. “We want to inspire and entertain our readers in every way.”

Along with quality editorial content, the online lifestyle magazines offer Daily Lifestyles Deals and a Lifestyles Community Support Program which means that reader and merchant selected non-profits will receive 15% of all proceeds from the daily deals.

This unique online coupon business model allows local community groups and charities to raise funds without dispensing valuable resources on advertising. Simultaneously, local businesses have the opportunity to promote themselves in a targeted way through great savings on a variety of products and services, while contributing to the local community.

“We’re providing our local communities with an effortless and free fundraising alternative to advertising,” says Michael Chenier, Business Development Director. “Our Lifestyles Community Support Program means that we can have a positive local impact and support organizations with much-needed funds. We encourage people to come and check out the sites, subscribe to our daily deals and approach us with editorial ideas.”

Local charities and community groups can nominate themselves or be nominated to take part in the program. Once nominated, the non-profits must encourage their network to show support by voting for their particular cause. At the end of each month, a top 10 list is selected based on reader votes and participating businesses can choose who they would like to benefit from the sales of their deal.
