Yulu Communications and Sip Publicity have merged. As of January 1st, the two agencies have been operating under the name Yulu Public Relations Inc. and working in an open loft in central Gastown.
"The main deciding factor for both parties involved really came down to core values,” explains Melissa Orozco, co-founder and principal of Yulu PR. “After reviewing Sip’s client roster and company vision, we knew instantly the values-based agency would complement the Yulu brand and our client portfolio.”
They have united to form a new company that will have a strong competitive presence in Canada’s boutique agency landscape. Yulu PR’s main focus is to serve socially-innovative companies in the real estate, tech, lifestyle, social enterprise and cause-based sectors.
“As public relations professionals, we feel a responsibility to the consumer to communicate honestly and authentically,” said Jennifer Maloney, co-founder and principal. “If a company doesn’t align with our values, we don’t represent them. It’s that simple.”
In coming together, Maloney and Orozco saw an opportunity in both Canadian and US markets to service the growing number of companies trying to communicate triple bottom-line mandates. Moving forward, Yulu PR will continue to work with businesses and organizations that strive to have a positive impact on people, the planet and the economy.
The co-founders kept the name “Yulu”, which translates to “the journey of words” as it resonated with their shared vision for the new company, which aims to find the “BIG” story behind each campaign it takes on.
Maloney and Orozco are celebrating the company’s official with a party on January 31st, alongside clients, family and friends.
