When marketing a product the first question you may ask is, “Who is my audience?” Marketing yourself is no different. CPRS's Carrice Wong had the pleasure of discussing personal branding with Kylie McMullan, principal at Finch Media, a marketing and communications consultancy.
Hear what Kylie had to say about the BIG 3 in personal branding: knowing one's audience, owning your elevator pitch and having the likeability factor:
Kylie has a strong background in public relations and marketing, stemming from her experience both client side with Johnson & Johnson and Nature’s Path Organic Foods, and in agency, working on accounts such as Celestial Seasonings, Happy Planet Juice, Bootlegger, and Sandman Hotels.
An experienced brand manager, Kylie is also an Instructor of Public Relations for Simon Fraser University and the co-author of the first Canadian-based public relations textbook, Canadian PR for the Real World.
Kylie has a Masters of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University and is currently completing her Advanced Project Management Certificate at Stanford University. She proudly sits on the Young Associates Committee for the Vancouver Art Gallery and on the YWCA Women of Distinction Nomination’s committee.
