CPRS Vancouver seeks a professional, enthusiastic go-getter to be our next Volunteer Coordinator

Want to work with a fantastic group of people this year at CPRS Vancouver? We know you’ve thought about it… so here is your opportunity!

For over 50 years, the Canadian Public Relations Society of Vancouver has served public relations practitioners and communications specialists in British Columbia as the networking and professional development organization of choice. With nearly 300 members, CPRS Vancouver relies on the work and dedication of dozens of volunteers who each year contribute to the success of our programming.

We are seeking a professional member of our society interested in volunteering as a liaison to the Board of Directors, to work with our many volunteers, matching skills with programming and content needs. The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for all volunteer recruitment, intake, management and recognition.

CPRS Vancouver requires volunteers throughout the year for many initiatives such as the membership month campaign, special events planning, finding speakers, sourcing out and booking venues, writing social media and blog content, editing, graphic design, and much more! The Volunteer Coordinator will develop and manage a volunteer intake process to ensure volunteers are paired with the appropriate initiative, all with the goal of creating a positive and sustainable experience for the volunteer and the CPRS Vancouver Board of Directors.

We’re a remarkable and fun team of professionals who need your help to create a thriving volunteer program this year! Join us. Approximate time commitment is 10-15 hours per month.

About you:

  • You are currently a member of CPRS (student, affiliate or full)

  • You have previous volunteer experience (either with CPRS or other organizations)

  • You have experience coordinating teams/groups of people

  • You are responsible and accountable

  • You have the capacity to respond to volunteer and Board member inquiries within 24 hours

  • You are keen to be involved in the Public Relations and Communications community in Vancouver

  • You can commit to this position for no less than 1 year

  • You can be called upon to join Board meetings if requested to provide updates and report on volunteers
