Dorothy Sitek passed away due to cancer related causes leaving a wide range of friends and clients mourning her sudden passing. Dorothy was a long time professional communicator who worked around the world for organizations like the United Nations, Weber Shandwick, and most recently as President of Generations Communications. Dorothy had the opportunity to work with, and befriend, people from coast to coast. She was a passionate advocate and consummate professional with widely sought expertise and counsel. Most importantly she was a good friend and went out of her way to mentor young professionals and support the causes she believed in.
Dorothy impacted the lives of people in Vancouver and across Canada as she proudly served clients from a wide range of organizations including the City of Vancouver, Olympic Committee, Government of Canada, Elections Canada, McDonalds, Linens ‘n Things, Canadian Tire and many others. Dorothy was serving as the Canadian Society for Marketing Professional Services and Management Committee of the Urban Land Institute, involved with CPRS and IABC, and Board Member of Soup Sisters and Broth Brothers.
A common theme for many who met her was, "the minute we met, we hit it off!" Dorothy was known for her smart wit, keen intellect, and perhaps more so, her infinite wisdom.
