CPRS/CISION STUDENT AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

Each year, this award is presented jointly by CPRS and Cision to celebrate promising future practitioners who have demonstrated an ability and desire to contribute to the status and acceptance of our profession. To apply for this award, you must be a current CPRS Student Member, enrolled in final year (or equivalent) of a recognized, full-time Canadian PR program. (Proof of enrollment required).

CPRS Vancouver Student Scholarship

The CPRS Vancouver Student Scholarship is awarded each year to a student who submits excellent project work for a real-world client. Past scholarship recipients have found themselves in demand, with many receiving job offers as a result of the award.

Students who apply for the scholarship must:

  • Be a current student member of CPRS Vancouver; and
  • Be enrolled in a public relations or communications program in the Lower Mainland or Fraser Valley.

The winner is awarded a one-time $2000 prize.

The deadline for the 2019 CPRS Vancouver Student Scholarship is 12:00 midnight. (PST), Friday, May 24, 2019. Late applications will not be accepted.


Torchia Scholarship in public Relations/Communications

The Scholarship is awarded annually to the student who best exemplifies the spirit and practice of bilingualism in the Canadian communications and public relations profession. It is inspired by the career of Armand Torchia, who co-founded The Houston Group and Torchia Communications.

The Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has chosen to study public relations/communications in one of Canada's two official languages that is not his/her first language or mother tongue. The student will be entering his/her second year of undergraduate study in public relations/communications at a Canadian university or college, in either a degree program or a multi-year diploma or certificate program that meets recognized standards of education.

The scholarship is valued at $1,500 and is for one year only. Deadline to submit is April 30, 2019.
