PRS/CNW Student Award of Excellence

Established by CPRS National office and CNW Group, this award recognizes student excellence in the PR field. Eligible students must be currently enrolled in their final year (or equivalent) of a recognized, full-time PR program, instructed in a Canadian post-secondary institute. Students must be studying at an undergraduate, diploma or certificate level.

Winners receive a certificate and $1,000 prize offered by CNW Group.

CPRS Vancouver Student Scholarship

The CPRS Vancouver Student Scholarship* is awarded each year to a student who submits excellent project work for a real-world client. Past scholarship recipients have found themselves in demand, with many receiving job offers as a result of the award. 

Students who apply for the scholarship must:

  • Be a current student member of CPRS Vancouver; and
  • Be enrolled in a public relations or communications program in the Lower Mainland or Fraser Valley.

The winner is awarded a one-time $2000 prize.

Torchia Scholarship in public Relations/Communications

The Scholarship is awarded annually to the student who best exemplifies the spirit and practice of bilingualism in the Canadian communications and public relations profession. It is inspired by the career of Armand Torchia, who co-founded The Houston Group and Torchia Communications.

The Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has chosen to study public relations/communications in one of Canada's two official languages that is not his/her first language or mother tongue. The student will be entering his/her second year of undergraduate study [in 2015/16] in public relations/communications at a Canadian university or college, in either a degree program or a multi-year diploma or certificate program that meets recognized standards of education.

The scholarship is valued at $1,500 and is for one year only.
