Volunteer for CPRS Vancouver
The Canadian Public Relations Society Vancouver could not function without the expertise and time given to our organization by a dedicated group of volunteers - including many long-standing volunteers. CPRS Vancouver aims to ensure all volunteers are able to take away something new from their experience - whether it be new skills, experiences, or connections. In order to do so, our Board is constantly looking to expand our offerings to members and in doing so provide valuable new volunteer opportunities to CPRS members.
A U.S. study shows that those who volunteer are 27% more likely to land a job than non-volunteers. Whether you are a student planning for your first job or transitioning to a new career, volunteering provides valuable skills to add to your resume. Volunteering shows initiative and emphasizes that you are actively engaged in your desired career field.
CPRS Vancouver provides its volunteers a plethora of opportunities and benefits including but not limited to:
-
LinkedIn “Recommendation” and endorsement of “Skills”
-
Employment references
-
“Service Certificate” for each year completed as a volunteer (great for uploading to LinkedIn!)
-
Invitation to our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Event
-
Be part of an awesome, supportive, inspiring communications & PR community
CPRS Vancouver’s commitment to EDI
CPRS Vancouver values the unique skills and experiences each member brings to the Society, and is committed to creating and maintaining a diverse and inclusive organization for all, including in our Board and Executive roles. We encourage members from underrepresented groups in our membership, including Black persons, Indigenous persons, women, gender diverse people, persons of colour, LGBTQIA2S+ and persons with visible and invisible disabilities to join our Board and be leaders in the Vancouver PR industry.
