International Women’s Day 2026: Give to Gain

This International Women’s Day, the CPRS Vancouver Board of Directors proudly recognizes the progress made toward gender equity - and recommits to advancing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in our leadership and governance.

As a female-led, gender-diverse board, we know that representation matters. Diverse lived experiences strengthen decision-making, deepen empathy, and expand our collective impact. Inclusive leadership does not happen by accident; it requires intention, accountability, and action to remove systemic barriers and create spaces where all voices are heard, valued, and influential.

This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” reminds us that progress is built through generosity and shared responsibility. When we give our time, knowledge, advocacy, mentorship, and visibility, we create opportunities for women and people of all gender identities to lead and thrive. When we collaborate instead of compete, we elevate not only individuals, but our entire profession.

At CPRS Vancouver, we see this every day through board mentorship, knowledge sharing, professional development, and the intentional work of fostering inclusive governance. By giving to one another, we gain stronger leadership, richer perspectives, and a more resilient communications community. View full director bios here: https://www.cprsvancouver.com/About/Directors

On International Women’s Day and beyond, we stand united in advancing gender equity and inclusive leadership.

We invite our members and community to join us in celebrating International Women’s Day by recognizing and uplifting the women and gender-diverse leaders who shape our profession. One meaningful way to support and advance this work is through leadership and service within our professional community.

Over the next few months, we will be recruiting for Board of Director positions to be voted in at our Annual General Meeting in June. If you are a mid to senior-level communications professional who would like to give back to our profession to gain meaningful leadership experience while helping build more equitable opportunities, we encourage you to consider putting your name forward. Watch our social media posts for these opportunities or reach out to [email protected] for more information.
