CPRS Vancouver is one of the most active chapters in Canada, and for that, we are proud. We are in the top three of the highest membership counts, and for that, we are proud. Our board is already planning programs, events, and opportunities for your career development, and for that, we are so proud, we want to share our goals with you:

Accreditation: Robin Cook-Bondy, APR, is joined by new director, Christina Shorthouse, APR, to support all candidates in achieving their APR. Applications for this year’s APR cohort are due to CPRS National on December 1. Communications: Courtney McGillion, APR, is our new Communications Director, and will keep you informed on CPRS Vancouver news across all our channels.

Events: We have a robust events team this year:

Cecilia Ho and Pinder Rehal aim to deliver one virtual professional development event each month, along with additional in-person PD events.

Leslie Hacker has already started leading our special events portfolio with a Season kick-off social and will share holiday social news soon.

Naseam Ahmadi is organizing monthly comms coffee chats we will co-host with with IABC/BC - and the first one is almost sold out.

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: Our EDI subcommittee, led by Nevasha Naidoo, APR, will aim to complete a website audit this year. They will also ensure we host one EDI-focused event per quarter, meet board member diversity targets, review all communications through an EDI lens, and support the development of a National Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategy.

Finance: Our new Treasurer, David Connop-Price, will work with the board to support initiatives that increase revenue.

Membership: Increase members, maintain retention, and manage renewals. We welcome our new Membership Director, George van Rooyen, who will help achieve these goals

Mentorship: Roberta Prattico is enthusiastic to begin the mentorship program, so watch for her announcement soon.

Senior Leaders’ Network: Last season, Caeli Murray re-engaged our senior leaders and will do the same this year, with networking events and communications geared to leaders in our profession.

Students and Education: Co-Directors Lesley Chang and Sashi Goel have big plans to increase student membership, relaunch the student scholarship, produce one student event per quarter, and invite a student member to join the board.

Survey: Hanne Lene Dalgleish will be working on a survey to determine what you want to get from your CPRS Vancouver membership, so please watch for that later this year.
