In 1959, the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) officially launched a chapter in its most western city: Vancouver. Sixty years later the chapter is going strong, and on Thursday, June 13, 2019 we celebrated its 60th anniversary milestone by honoring the past and celebrating the future of CPRS Vancouver.

When I started thinking about CPRS Vancouver’s 60th anniversary earlier this year, my goal was to reach out to as many people as possible who have been involved with the chapter since 1959.

The CPRS Vancouver Student Scholarship is awarded each year to a student who submits excellent project work for a real-world client. Many of our past recipients received job offers as result of the award. The winner is awarded a one-time $2000 prize.

PR has undergone a lot of change, and for the women who led the way in Vancouver’s PR industry, some of those evolutions are bigger than just the end of fax machines.
